Free. Barside asks before it adds the template, then makes a new note from it. Needs Barside 1.50 or newer.

A board shows the flow of work; a table holds the details. This template has both in one note, so you can see the big picture and the fine print side by side.
Who it is for
It is for small teams and solo workers who want a simple kanban board without project-management software: freelancers, startups, school groups and side projects. If your team works in sprints, combine it with the daily standup template.
What is in the project tracker template
- A kanban board: To do, In progress, Review and Done, with example cards to move.
- All tasks: a database table with Owner, Priority, Status and Due.
- Tasks by status: a bar chart drawn from the table.
- Notes: decisions and links.
An example
Ana tracks a product launch with four tasks. "Write the brief" is in Done; "Design the first screens" moves from To do to In progress on Monday. In the table, she gives each task an owner and a date, then sorts by Due. On Friday the chart shows two tasks in progress and one in review, so the team agrees to finish before starting anything new.
How to use the project tracker template
- Choose Open in Barside above. Barside opens and asks before it adds anything.
- Pick the workspace for the note, and leave Keep it in my templates ticked to use the template again.
- Choose Create note. A new note called "Project tracker" opens, ready to fill in.
- Next time, start one from New note from a template, or let Barside make it on a schedule as a repeating note.
No Barside yet? It is free for Windows, Linux and Mac: download Barside, then choose Open in Barside again.
How to keep a tracker up to date
- Limit how many cards sit in In progress. Finishing beats starting.
- Review the board for five minutes each morning.
- Sort the table by Due, or filter it to one owner.
- Move a card to Review when it waits on someone else.
Make it yours
- Add columns such as Blocked or This week.
- Add a Points number column and a sum to size work.
- Share it in a Barside Space for a small team.
FAQ
Questions and answers
Do the board and the table update each other?
No. They are two separate blocks in the note. Many people use the board for the flow and the table for details, or keep only the one they prefer.
Is the project tracker template free?
Yes. The template and Barside are both free. Barside Plus is optional and adds cloud backup and sync between computers; templates do not need it.
Does the template work offline?
Adding it needs the internet once, so Barside can fetch it from barside.space. After that, the template and every note made from it live on your computer and work offline.
Can I use it on a Mac?
Yes: Barside for Mac is out. Barside also runs on Windows and Linux. The template page works in any browser, so you can preview it anywhere.
